Overview
The Entity Types settings allow you to control how sample uploads display results and to set a default value for optical character recognition (OCR).

Sample Context Capture
The Sample Context Capture setting determines how results display when evaluating a sample upload file against an entity type. Showing the contextual capture allows you to evaluate the correctness of the match. However, this means sensitive data may be exposed. Review the settings and select the display option you prefer. Again, ensure you understand how your chosen option affects whether sensitive data may be exposed. This setting does not impact policy execution in any way. It only determines if contextual information is captured during sample evaluation.

No Context Capture
When No context capture is selected, no contextual information is captured or displayed. The upload will display the value of the matched element.

Obfuscated Context Capture
When Obfuscated context capture is selected, contextual information is captured and displayed. The upload displays “Found” as the Value for matching elements, and the match is obfuscated with asterisks (*) when you view the document sample. This will guide where matches and matched keywords are found without returning sensitive information. This option displays matched keywords, but keywords generally do not contain sensitive information.

Raw Context Capture
When Raw context capture is selected, contextual information is captured and displayed in its raw form. This option captures and displays sensitive information.

Optical Charcater Recognition
The optical character recognition (OCR) setting allows DryvIQ to extract text from images, including images in PDF files and other document types. This global setting turns OCR on and off for your DryvIQ Platform. You must enable OCR to evaluate individual files against entity types. OCR is disabled by default, so you must enable this feature if you wish to use it.
Enabling OCR
- Click Manage in the left menu.
- Click Settings.
- Click Entity Types.
- Enable the Optical character recognition toggle.
Overriding the Default Setting
For content scans, OCR will be enabled or disabled for new scans automatically in the Settings step of the content scan setup based on the OCR setting. You can override the default for individual scans as desired. Enabling OCR is only valid when using templates that scan a file’s contents (File Categories, Sensitive Data Detection, and Miscellaneous templates) and may increase the scan time.
