Overview

The custom entity types are built-in entity types DryvIQ created to identify specific file information. This means you don’t have to create entity types for the file properties you want to use in your scans. You can use one of the seven custom entity types. Refer to Uploading Samples to learn how to upload individual files for analysis against any entity type.

Active User Status

The Active User Status entity type identifies the owner’s and/or creator’s status and whether the files are shared with active users. Use the link below to download a list of the supported statuses.

Content Category

The Content Category entity type identifies the file’s category based on its extension, making it possible to set your content scans to include or exclude specific file types. For example, you can choose to exclude files that fall into the “movies,” “temporary files,” and “Windows OS/DB file” categories to limit which content DryvIQ scans. DryvIQ skips all files with extensions that fall into these categories. The categories are listed below. Expand each category to view the included extensions.

Custom Metadata

Some platforms support adding custom metadata to files so you can classify or organize them based on your company’s needs. The Custom Metadata entity identifies the custom metadata assigned to content. For example, your company does business in multiple countries, including Poland. You may have a metadata field on files that identifies the country. When added to a content scan, this entity type identifies the files with a metadata location of Poland. You can then create a document set for these files to create a content scan that will scan these items for entity types relevant to Poland, such as Polish identity card numbers and Polish Social Security numbers.

This classification doesn’t support scanning a Network File System (NFS).

File Details

The File Details custom entity type identifies the file attributes (dates, timestamps, etc.). Use the link below to download a list of the supported file attributes DryvIQ identifies.

File Permissions

This entity type identifies the permission level (Read, Write, Read and Write, or Full) and sharing for content. You can use permissions actions to remove and/or modify permissions for specific users and/or groups. Use the link below to download a list of the supported permission queries.

File Status

The File Status entity type provides details about a file's status, such as whether it's locked or encrypted. Use the link below to download the supported file statuses.

Tags

Only some platforms support tags or keywords (Box, SharePoint 2013 and later, Microsoft Office 365, and Procore). The Tags entity type allows you to identify tags or keywords applied to content. For example, if you add a “legal approved” tag to all documents your legal team has reviewed and approved, DryvIQ will identify this label when scanning content. You can then create a document set for these files and choose to scan them again for additional entity types or have actions taken against the content.

This classification doesn’t support scanning a Network File System (NFS).
